As digital transformation accelerates across Africa, businesses are increasingly seeking tailored technology solutions that reflect their unique challenges and growth trajectories. Khaled Sammoud, founder of Provesta Soft, recognized this shift early.
Headquartered in Kelibia, Tunisia, his firm has delivered high-impact digital products across multiple sectors, offering everything from ERP systems to AI-powered prospecting tools. Under Sammoud’s leadership, Provesta Soft has become a trusted partner in regional innovation, with projects spanning Tunisia, Kenya, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Born in Kelibia, Built for the Continent
“I was born and raised in Kelibia, a coastal city in the Nabeul region of Tunisia,” Khaled shares. His academic beginnings were in electrical engineering, a discipline that equipped him with the fundamentals of structured thinking and complex problem-solving. But it was in the evolving world of software and digital tools that he found his true calling.
“Through e-learning and continuous skill-building, I transitioned into IT, focusing on software development, digital transformation and project management.”
That transition wasn’t just personal, it was strategic. Khaled saw an opportunity not merely to learn but to lead. He built a strong team of senior engineers, designers, and project managers, choosing to surround himself with people who were equally committed to execution and innovation.
“I surrounded myself with a team of highly skilled technical professionals, which allowed me to bridge the gap between vision and execution. This shift laid the foundation for my entrepreneurial path and the creation of Provesta Soft.”
Provesta Soft: Filling a Critical Market Gap
Khaled’s idea for Provesta Soft was born from a regional pain point. “Many businesses were struggling to find tailored digital solutions that aligned with their real operational needs,” he explains. The available options were mostly one-size-fits-all, useful, but rarely transformative.
“Most providers offered generic platforms, but few were able to offer scalable, customizable solutions with a deep understanding of local and regional constraints,” added Khaled.
“We specialize in the development of web, mobile, desktop and AI-driven applications,” he continues, noting that the firm places a particular emphasis on CRMs, ERPs, and automation tools. Today, the company operates out of Kelibia with over 25 full-time and freelance collaborators.
Staying Ahead in a Changing Digital Landscape
Since launching Provesta Soft, Khaled has seen firsthand how fast the digital world moves, especially in emerging markets. “The demand for digital transformation is no longer optional; it’s now a core business necessity.” From cloud infrastructure to generative AI, the trends are evolving and Provesta Soft is staying ahead through R&D investment, agile methodologies and international collaboration.
“We attend major tech summits and work with global partners to remain aligned with international standards,” Khaled says. It’s not just about following trends, it’s about setting them regionally.
Challenges, Lessons and the Strategic Mindset
Like many founders, Khaled has had to navigate complex challenges. One of the most profound was his own shift from technician to strategic leader. “Managing clients, structuring teams and making business-critical decisions, these were all new muscles to develop.”
He also faced scaling challenges common in emerging markets: unpredictable regulations, talent gaps and limited access to capital. “I’ve learned the importance of resilience, delegation and surrounding yourself with trustworthy, competent partners.”
These lessons weren’t theoretical, they were earned. They now form the backbone of his leadership philosophy.
Projects That Speak Volumes
Provesta Soft’s work spans sectors and geographies. A standout example is their development of the B2B matchmaking platform for FITA, which connected hundreds of African and international businesses.
“One of our major milestones has been the development and maintenance of the B2B matchmaking platform for FITA (Financing Investment & Trade in Africa), a continental event hosted by TABC. This platform helped connect hundreds of African and international businesses.”
Other signature platforms include:
- PRM.tn – A personalized relationship management solution
- Fidelfy.com – A complex multi-actor marketing platform
Through the Qawafel program (led by Expertise France and AFD), Provesta Soft expanded its reach into Kenya, Senegal, and the DRC, solidifying its position as a continental player.
Mentorship and AI for Good
Khaled’s influence isn’t confined to Provesta Soft. He actively mentors young entrepreneurs and participates in regional digital innovation programs. He also co-founded a startup ranking platform that connects innovators with potential investors—addressing a common bottleneck in African ecosystems. “I also co-founded a startup platform that ranks and connects startups with investors, helping bridge the gap between funding and innovation.”
“I’m passionate about AI and how it can be applied to solve local challenges in sectors such as education, healthcare, and administration,” he says. This passion recently took shape through a new project: an AI-powered commercial prospecting tool funded by Expertise France, aimed specifically at African SMEs.
“Start with a niche, stay focused and don’t try to do everything at once,” Khaled advises young entrepreneurs. His counsel is grounded in practicality. “Use open-source tools, collaborate with freelancers and focus on value rather than perfection.”
Most of all, he underscores the power of relationships. “Mentors, partners and clients can open doors that money cannot. And never underestimate the power of a clear vision and consistent execution.”
Leadership, Redefined
Reflecting on his entrepreneurial evolution, Khaled’s biggest takeaway is simple but profound. “Leadership is not about doing everything yourself, it’s about building trust and empowering others to succeed with you.”
That ethos of trust, mentorship and resilience defines not only how Provesta Soft operates but how it thrives. And for Khaled Sammoud, this is only the beginning of a broader mission to localize innovation, build African tech capacity and inspire others to do the same.
Quiet Power, Lasting Legacy
Khaled Sammoud may not be a household name, but his impact reverberates far beyond Tunisia’s borders. In a world increasingly shaped by platforms, code and connectivity, he’s using technology as a tool for empowerment, not just efficiency. He is proving that global-scale innovation can have local roots and that with clarity and a strong team, a coastal town like Kelibia can serve as the launchpad for a continent’s digital future.
In many ways, Khaled’s story is still being written but its chapters already offer a playbook for purposeful leadership in the digital age.
