Meet One Samuel, a dynamic social entrepreneur who is revolutionizing the lives of young girls through her groundbreaking work. As the founder of the Teen Advisory Network and author of a personal development tracker book, One is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders with the tools, guidance, and support they need to thrive.
Her academic and professional journey is equally inspiring. One has completed courses in HIV counseling and testing, banking and finance, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She also holds several qualifications in youth mentoring and development, mentoring and coaching, and project and event management. Her leadership development includes participation in programs such as Project 124 Africa, The Amazon Leadership Initiative (twice), and Girls for Girls Botswana, where she serves as the Social Impact Coordinator. Additionally, she has been featured as a guest speaker on Mebala Youth Studios’ program, Issues on Read.
Her experience also includes working as a peer educator at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital and organizing her first entrepreneurial event in December 2022 in Tati Siding, equipping young ladies with essential business skills. With a range of skills, including mentoring, writing, public speaking, good listening, and corporate event organizing, One aspires to be a shareholder and a transformative leader.

“My journey began with a deep desire to create meaningful change in the lives of young people,” says One Samuel. With a heart afire to transform the lives of young people, One Samuel embarked on a remarkable journey that would leave a mark on her community. Moved by the struggles of those from less privileged backgrounds, she channeled her passion into creating a trifecta of groundbreaking initiatives: the Teen Advisory Network, the Sparkling Leaders Initiative, and a personal development tracker book.
Each project is a testament to her unwavering commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders, fostering growth, and catalyzing transformation. As she continues to push boundaries, One is also nurturing a mentorship academy, still in its developmental stages, which promises to further amplify her impact. Through her tireless efforts, One Samuel is redefining the landscape of youth development, one initiative at a time.
Planting Seeds of Change: Teen Advisory Network
“The Teen Advisory Network was born to provide mentorship, education, and essential resources to young individuals from low-income backgrounds,” One shares. Her work through this initiative has been nothing short of transformative. “Through Teen Advisory Network, we’ve mentored 200 adolescent girls in local schools, equipping them with essential skills and confidence,” she shares, highlighting the tangible impact of her efforts. But it’s not just about numbers—it’s about the depth of connection and community.
As One notes, “We also organized a community outreach program where we spent quality time with less privileged children in Botswana. We made healthy snacks for them, recited affirmations, and shared positivity.” These experiences have profoundly shaped her perspective, as she reflects, “These experiences have shown me the profound impact of mentorship and connection.”
“Mentoring adolescent girls and seeing their confidence grow has been one of the most rewarding experiences,” One shares. Community outreach programs have further impacted less privileged children, spreading positivity and fostering growth. “These successes remind me of the power of mentorship and the importance of connection in driving change.”
In March 2025, the program will officially partner with a local primary school to include 12 students. “We will teach them practical skills like painting, baking, and gardening—skills they can use to sustain themselves in the future.” Additionally, a local tuition center will provide tutoring for students preparing for their final PSLE examinations. “It’s all about equipping them with tools to thrive,” she adds.
Sparkling Leaders Initiative
“Many young people struggle with self-awareness, discipline, and emotional intelligence,” One notes. This mentorship academy focuses on empowering them through personal development. “The Sparkling Leaders Initiative is designed to inspire growth and cultivate confident, purpose-driven leaders,” she explains. Through mentorship programs, workshops, and practical development tools, the initiative addresses key gaps in personal growth.
The Personal Development Tracker Book
“The idea for my personal development tracker book came from my desire to create a practical tool for people to work on their goals,” One reveals. “It’s a way to help individuals build habits, track progress, and take intentional actions toward growth.”
Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Lessons
Every entrepreneurial journey comes with challenges. “For the Teen Advisory Network, securing consistent funding has been a significant hurdle,” One admits. This experience taught her the importance of diversifying income streams and strategic fundraising. Similarly, the Sparkling Leaders Initiative has faced the challenge of changing mindsets. “In Botswana, mentorship is often undervalued,” she says. “But I see this as an opportunity to educate and inspire a cultural shift.”
Exciting Projects on the Horizon
One’s upcoming initiatives include a personal development seminar scheduled for February 28, 2025, in Gaborone. “This event will bring together individuals passionate about self-improvement and growth,” she says enthusiastically. Additionally, she is working on her second book, focusing on student academic development, to further expand her impact. “I’m excited about the potential to inspire even more people,” she adds.

“If you’re passionate about your business idea, launch it!” One encourages aspiring entrepreneurs. “Perseverance is key to overcoming challenges. Start with the resources you have and seek guidance from mentors who can support you along the way.”
