“My passion is to see people living their best lives, and I believe that starts with understanding who they are and what they have to offer,” Nonofo explains. “I’m committed to helping individuals discover their strengths and passions, and using those to achieve their goals.”
A Humble Beginning: Nonofo’s Entrepreneurial Path
Nonofo’s journey began during her university days, where she pursued a degree in Business Administration (HRM) and later an Executive MBA. Although she was unsure of the specific business path she would take, Nonofo was driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact. After completing her studies, she began working and soon realized that many individuals struggled to effectively represent and position themselves professionally.
“This realization sparked my entrepreneurial spirit, and I embarked on a journey to find solutions,” Nonofo recalls. “I started consulting as an Image Consultant in 2017, and in 2020, I officially founded Focal Point Human Solutions (formerly N Hessy Consultancy) in Gaborone, Botswana.”
The company focuses on organizational and people development, strategic image and personal branding management, and personal and professional coaching. Nonofo’s approach emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, personal growth, and intentional living. “I believe that everyone has a unique purpose and passion, and it’s my job to help them uncover that,” Nonofo says. “My goal is to empower individuals to take control of their lives, make intentional decisions, and live a life that truly reflects their values and aspirations.”
As the business landscape continues to evolve, Nonofo emphasizes the importance of staying adaptable and up-to-date with industry trends. “The business landscape is more technology-driven nowadays, and we’ve incorporated the use of technological platforms to service our clients and engage with them,” she notes.
One of the most significant challenges Nonofo faced was making uninformed decisions due to a lack of data-driven insights about her target market. However, this experience taught her the value of agility and embracing learning from every situation. “It’s essential to balance quick decision-making with thorough research,” Nonofo advises. “As an entrepreneur, you have to be willing to take calculated risks and adapt to changing circumstances.”
Nonofo’s company has achieved notable success, particularly in creating a coaching process that enables clients to develop a deeper appreciation of their personal attributes, abilities, and talents. This process helps individuals refine their skills and find suitable work. “I’m proud of the impact we’ve made in the lives of our clients,” Nonofo says. “We’ve helped people discover their passions, develop their skills, and achieve their goals. It’s incredibly rewarding to see people thrive and reach their full potential.”
Beyond Focal Point Human Solutions
Apart from her work with Focal Point Human Solutions, Nonofo is passionate about community and social development initiatives. She believes that one’s talents and abilities are meant to bless others. “I’m committed to using my skills and expertise to make a positive impact in my community,” Nonofo explains. “I believe that we all have a responsibility to give back and make a difference in the lives of others.”
Nonofo is excited about emerging trends in her field, particularly the use of gamification technology to create interactive solutions. “I’m always looking for new and innovative ways to engage with our clients and help them achieve their goals,” Nonofo says. “Gamification is a powerful tool that can help people learn and grow in a fun and interactive way.”
She is currently hosting employability programs throughout the year and is gearing up to host a Personal Effectiveness and Mastery Symposium on March 22, 2025. “I’m excited to bring together like-minded individuals who are passionate about personal growth and development,” Nonofo says. “The symposium will be a powerful opportunity for people to learn, grow, and connect with others who share their interests and passions.”
Reflecting on her journey as an entrepreneur, Nonofo emphasizes the importance of faith, vision, and action. “These three things have played a crucial part in building something I have found to be worthwhile,” she notes. “Faith gives me the courage to take risks and trust in the unknown. Vision helps me stay focused on my goals and aspirations. And action enables me to turn my vision into reality.”
