African entrepreneurs often face a difficult road when trying to grow their businesses. Accessing the right kind of financing is one of the toughest challenges, especially for small and medium-sized agribusinesses that are already creating real impact on the ground. KAC-Afrika GmbH has stepped in with a new initiative that promises to change this story for many ambitious startups across the continent.

The company is calling on high-potential agribusiness startups from Kenya, Uganda, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria and Ghana to apply for a unique opportunity to scale their businesses. This program is not just about offering money but about providing the right type of financing, guidance and partnerships to help businesses move from stability to exponential growth. For many entrepreneurs, this could mean the difference between struggling to survive and becoming a million-dollar African success story.

Startups that qualify must be operating for at least two years and show annual revenue between $400,000 and $1 million. They should already be post break-even, directly impacting between 50 and 1,000 smallholder farmers and have low leverage with funding levels not exceeding 30 percent. The focus is on agribusiness enterprises across the value chain, from suppliers of inputs and equipment to processors, logistics providers, warehousing, cold storage facilities, climate resilience projects, distribution platforms and agri-tech solutions. What makes this initiative different is that it specifically targets businesses that are already creating impact but need tailored support and working capital to scale further.

KAC-Afrika is offering smart financing of between $40,000 and $60,000 at zero percent interest. For many businesses, this type of support is a game-changer, as it removes the burden of high interest costs that usually weigh heavily on young companies. Alongside financing, participants will receive tailored capacity-building support designed to strengthen their operations and prepare them for expansion. The organization is not simply providing funding and stepping back. Instead, it is committing to walking the journey with entrepreneurs, guiding them through structuring deals and connecting them with the right partners to maximize their growth.

The vision of KAC-Afrika is much bigger than just supporting individual startups. The company is working to create opportunities that strengthen cooperation between Africa and Europe. By encouraging technology and knowledge transfer between Europe and Africa, it hopes to foster new products, services and innovations that will accelerate Africa’s industrialization and technologization. These efforts are not just about business growth; they are about creating prosperity for a larger middle class, securing jobs and building value within African economies.

The company’s approach also includes supporting feasibility studies, delegation trips and R&D-focused cooperation projects. With these activities, KAC-Afrika positions itself not only as a financier but also as a bridge for businesses and institutions seeking to enter African markets or expand their presence there. Its services include funding advice, financing solutions, network management and market entry strategies that give businesses the tools to succeed in complex environments.

Behind this initiative is Dr. Akuma Saningong, the founder of Kamerun4AfrikaClub e.V., which was established in 2007. The association has long been known for awarding educational scholarships to children and young people, with Dr. Saningong crediting education as his “shield, sword and olive branch.” However, he also recognized the limitations of relying on donations to make an impact. This realization inspired the creation of the for-profit KAC-Afrika GmbH, which allows him to expand his activities in a sustainable way, empowering entrepreneurs while continuing to strengthen the bond between Africa and Europe.

The mission of KAC-Afrika is rooted in the belief that for-profit ventures can often do more good than non-profits by creating sustainable, long-term impact. By supporting entrepreneurs in agribusiness and beyond, the company is contributing to job creation, innovation and the growth of Africa’s middle class. The initiative acknowledges that Africa is full of untapped opportunities, from the energy transition to the digital economy and creative industries. Unlocking these opportunities requires not just capital but strategic partnerships, knowledge exchange and the right kind of guidance, all of which KAC-Afrika is prepared to deliver.

For agribusiness entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Côte d’Ivoire and Kenya, this program represents more than just funding. It is a doorway to scale up their businesses, expand their impact on smallholder farmers and play a bigger role in shaping the future of African food systems. With smart financing, hands-on support and cross-continental connections, KAC-Afrika is building the conditions for success stories that will inspire many more to come.
