African-born automotive company, Mureza Auto Co, is driving the continent’s industrial ambitions to new heights with the expected launch of a state-of-the-art component manufacturing hub in Zimbabwe. The announcement was made by Founder and Industrial Design Manager, Tatenda Mungofa, who emphasized that the time for Africa’s industrial transformation is now.
“Like I said previously, it’s getting real in Africa. We’re going bigger, getting better and moving faster,” said Mungofa.
What began as a bold dream is fast becoming a regional game changer. The new manufacturing facility will fabricate high-performance steel components that support Mureza’s growing line of locally assembled and designed vehicles. The company has partnered with one of the world’s leading automotive consulting firms, which is supplying the latest machinery to ensure the operation starts with impact.
The factory is expected to be a hub of innovation, quality and productivity a symbol of Africa’s rising capacity in global automotive supply chains.
5,000 Jobs and Community Upliftment
The facility will be located near a high-density suburb, ensuring direct economic benefits to local communities. Mureza Auto Co projects that over 5,000 jobs will be created in the short-to-medium term spanning roles in manufacturing, logistics, engineering, quality control and management.
This move reinforces Mureza’s mission not just to build cars, but to build Africa one opportunity at a time.
