This month marked an exciting milestone for Mali’s entrepreneurial landscape with the launch of the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF).

Powered by the Jidiiya Fund consortium, comprising Zira Capital, ForthInvestment and F&S Consulting, OCIF Mali aims to accelerate the growth of promising local startups.

This initiative is driven by a clear set of objectives designed to foster innovation, create jobs and bolster economic development in Mali.

The fund’s launch signals a new era of support for young entrepreneurs, providing not just funding but a comprehensive ecosystem of mentorship and strategic guidance.

Orange Corners Building a Thriving Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

The primary aim of Orange Corners is to empower young entrepreneurs to transform their innovative ideas into scalable and sustainable businesses.

By offering financial support, strategic mentorship, and technical assistance, the program seeks to address common barriers faced by startups in Mali, such as limited access to capital and expertise.

Orange Corners’ broader mission is to cultivate a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that encourages risk-taking, creativity and resilience.

The program also emphasizes inclusivity, ensuring that entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds and regions can access opportunities for growth and development.

Supporting Malian Entrepreneurs: From Vision to Reality

Earlier this month, the OCIF selected three standout Malian companies after a highly competitive process. These companies exemplify Mali’s entrepreneurial spirit and potential for innovation across various sectors.

Kaba Multi Services, based in Ségou, stands out as a comprehensive tech hub offering typing, printing, training, repairs and graphic design services. This company aims to bridge the technological gap in Mali by providing accessible digital solutions to local businesses and individuals.

BEKST, situated in Bamako, is revolutionizing logistics and transportation with its smart platform that manages express deliveries, moto-taxi rides and intercity ticketing.

Their innovative approach addresses critical gaps in Mali’s transportation and logistics infrastructure.

Lastly, AVIPRO, also based in Bamako, is making strides in the agro-pastoral sector by producing high-quality poultry and animal feed, contributing to food security and local agriculture.

How the Fund Will Accelerate Growth

Over the next 24 months, these three companies will receive tailored mentorship, strategic advice, and technical guidance designed to help them scale rapidly.

The funds allocated—63 million FCFA (approximately €100,000)—will be strategically deployed to support product development, market expansion, and operational efficiency. The program’s comprehensive support aims to turn these startups into regional and even international players.

Mentorship will connect entrepreneurs with industry experts, helping them refine their business models, improve financial management and develop effective marketing strategies.

This holistic approach ensures that each company not only receives capital but also the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed.

A Bright Future for Mali’s Innovation Scene

The launch of OCIF Mali underscores a broader commitment to nurturing local talent and fostering innovation-driven growth.

By empowering startups like Kaba Multi Services, BEKST and AVIPRO, the initiative aims to create a ripple effect—generating employment, stimulating local economies and inspiring more young entrepreneurs to follow their visions.

The success of these companies could serve as a blueprint for future generations of Malian entrepreneurs eager to make a difference.

Orange Corners Mali is not only a more than just a funding initiative. ; it is a catalyst for sustainable development and innovation. The program’s objectives resonate with Mali’s aspirations to build a resilient, entrepreneurial economy.

With targeted support and strategic investments, the future looks promising for Mali’s vibrant startup ecosystem, driven by passionate entrepreneurs ready to transform their communities and the nation at large.
