Zimbabwe is facing a crippling unemployment crisis, with the latest Zimstat statistics revealing a 1.3% increase in joblessness in the third quarter. This alarming trend has forced many young adults to seek alternative paths to financial stability. As a result, entrepreneurship has become a beacon of hope for survival.
However, starting a business can be daunting, especially for first-time entrepreneurs. Lack of guidance, resources, and expertise often hinder their progress. That’s where Lovemore Nyatsine comes in – a seasoned entrepreneur, growth coach, and mentor dedicated to empowering young entrepreneurs.
In a community ripe for innovation and growth, Lovemore Nyatsine stands out as a beacon of positive change. As a dedicated Growth Coach, Nyatsine has been passionately empowering young entrepreneurs to reach new heights, long before receiving his official license last week.
Nyatsine’s journey began with a simple yet profound realization that the potential for growth and success lies within every individual. Without waiting for formal recognition, he started sharing his expertise, guidance, and support with aspiring entrepreneurs.
His unwavering commitment has inspired countless young minds, fostering a culture of resilience and determination.
Now, as a licensed Growth Coach, Nyatsine is poised to amplify his impact. His primary focus remains that of equipping young entrepreneurs with the tools, strategies, and mindset necessary to propel their businesses forward.
“I enjoy my Growth Coach role as I get to exchange lessons, challenges, and opportunities with my coaching clients. I have a special interest in coaching young entrepreneurs. This interest goes back to when I was asked to lead the formation of one of Zimbabwe’s first innovation hubs,” said Nyatsine in a LinkedIn post.
Nyatsine’s coaching has been instrumental in shaping the entrepreneurial journeys of many. His guidance helps clarify vision, overcome obstacles, and achieve tangible results.
His teaching approach is built on empathy, active listening, and a deep understanding of the local business landscape. He skillfully bridges the gap between ambition and achievement, nurturing a supportive ecosystem for his clients.
As Nyatsine continues to empower the next generation of business leaders, his influence extends beyond individual success stories. He is cultivating a ripple effect of positivity, contributing to the growth and development of the community at large.
In a Facebook post Nyatsine said “I coach for outcomes not income, I show you who you are not who I am, I use the power of my example so you learn from my failures, stumbles and fumbles and be better than me, I tell my story to express not to impress, I allow you to stand on my shoulders so you see further than me, I use appreciative inquiry (what you are good at) vs deficit inquiry (what you are bad at).”
How he became the Creator of Empowering Opportunities (CEO)
Nyatsine’s transformative journey began in 1990 when he arrived in Harare as a curious 14-year-old. Under his uncle Bevan’s guidance and mentorship, he gained invaluable experience at the Magaba carpentry shop.
“My uncle took me under his wing, offering me my first ‘job’ at his carpentry shop in Magaba. Although he never paid me as agreed, I never harbored bitterness.”
His educational pursuits took him to Gweru, where he studied Accounts and Finance. However, an early entrepreneurial venture at university resulted in a $500 loss due to inexperience.
Years later, Nyatsine’s expertise as a columnist for Black Business Quarterly (BBQ) magazine earned him recognition in respected publications.
While pursuing his PhD in Kenya, Nyatsine shared his expertise by teaching Strategy at a local university and providing pro-bono consulting services.
“These experiences taught me the value of creating opportunities, embracing challenges, and giving back. Today, as a licensed Growth Coach, I empower others to do the same.”
