In the heart of Lesotho, where tradition meets modernity, a tech visionary is shaping the future of African technology. Litsitso David Morobi, the founder and CEO of NexaVTS, embodies a rare combination of technical ingenuity and a deep commitment to human well-being. Through his groundbreaking initiatives, he is not only transforming industries but also fostering cultural preservation and nurturing the next generation of tech leaders.

The Genesis of a Visionary

“My journey started with a passion for technology and a drive to create solutions that make a difference,” Morobi reflects, describing the early days of his career. While studying computer science at the National University of Lesotho, he began to see the transformative power of technology. “It wasn’t just about coding or creating tools; it was about ensuring those tools positively impacted people’s lives.”

NexaVTS was born out of a simple yet powerful philosophy: that technology and human well-being go hand in hand. This idea led to the company’s creation on January 18, 2023. As a multi-product technology company, NexaVTS is dedicated to developing innovative solutions that span multiple industries, including social networking, health, education, artificial intelligence, and more.

Their mission is clear: to enrich lives by harnessing technology that prioritizes online security, transparency, and innovation, while also nurturing mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Today, NexaVTS is a team of 33 people from six countries: Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Uganda, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Bangladesh. This diverse team is working together to create new solutions that make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Among NexaVTS’s many achievements, the CB Net platform stands out as a beacon of success. Designed to connect beauty professionals with clients, the platform has expanded beyond Lesotho’s borders into Botswana and Zimbabwe. “This expansion was a major milestone for us,” Morobi shares. “It allowed us to showcase how technology can break barriers and create opportunities for professionals to thrive across borders.”

However, scaling CB Net wasn’t without its challenges. “Navigating the legal and financial complexities of entering new markets required patience and strategic thinking,” he explains. Despite these hurdles, the platform continues to grow, reflecting the team’s resilience and adaptability.

What sets NexaVTS apart is its emphasis on integrating human well-being into technology. “Many existing solutions focus solely on technical aspects,” says Morobi. “We’re different because we consider how our products impact users’ emotional, psychological, and physical health.”

One of the company’s most ambitious projects is Hae AI, an initiative aimed at preserving the Sesotho language. “Hae AI is not just about technology; it’s about cultural preservation,” Morobi explains. “We’re ensuring that Sesotho thrives in the digital age, and this work could pave the way for other African languages to follow suit.”

Nurturing Future Innovators

Morobi’s commitment to technology extends beyond NexaVTS. Through his initiative, Computational Thinkers and Data Experts (CTDE), he mentors young minds in programming and problem-solving. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see our students grow and even join NexaVTS as contributors,” he shares proudly.

Another passion project is his venture into animation, where African stories are told through cutting-edge technology. “Africa has a wealth of narratives that deserve to be shared globally,” he says. “Technology gives us the platform to do just that.”

Lessons in Leadership

As an entrepreneur, Morobi has faced numerous challenges, from limited resources to navigating new markets. “Scaling a business is not easy, especially in Africa,” he admits. “But through these challenges, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, teamwork, and flexibility.”

Morobi’s leadership style is deeply influenced by these experiences. “Success doesn’t come overnight,” he notes. “It’s about persistence and staying committed to your vision while supporting your team and being open to new ideas.”

Shaping the Future

The tech landscape is evolving rapidly, and Morobi is determined to keep NexaVTS at the forefront. “AI and automation are transforming industries, and we’re embracing these changes,” he says. “For example, we’re enhancing CB Net with user-generated content and exploring how AI can bring even more value to our users.”

Looking ahead, Morobi is particularly excited about the potential of Hae AI. “This project is just the beginning,” he states. “I envision a future where African languages and cultures are seamlessly integrated into global technological advancements.”

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

For those looking to follow in his footsteps, Morobi offers sage advice: “Focus on your strengths and solve real problems. Start small, iterate quickly and use feedback to refine your approach. Innovation doesn’t require huge resources—it requires vision and persistence.”

Litsitso David Morobi’s story is one of passion, innovation, and purpose. Through NexaVTS, he is not only transforming industries but also uplifting communities and preserving cultures. As he continues to push boundaries, his work serves as a testament to the power of technology to create a better, more inclusive world for Africa and beyond.
