Egypt’s technology entrepreneurship landscape continues to evolve with renewed energy as the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), through its Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), welcomes the 47th round of startups under its flagship Start IT incubation program. With an expanded support package, a new digital perks platform and a strong focus on talent and AI enablement, the initiative is designed to help early-stage ventures grow faster, smarter and with greater resilience.

This fresh intake signals more than just another cohort. It is part of ITIDA’s broader mission to unlock the potential of Egypt’s young innovators, promote inclusive digital growth and develop a vibrant ecosystem where technology-driven ideas can thrive. At its core, Start IT is about turning early concepts into scalable, investment-ready businesses that solve real-world problems and this latest round is full of promise.

Building a Connected Entrepreneurial Community

The kickoff of the 47th round was not just about welcoming new founders. It also featured a community-building event that brought together the incoming startups and alumni from earlier rounds. This networking session fostered valuable conversations, peer learning and cross-collaboration, reflecting the essence of Start IT, a program that goes beyond mentorship and funding to create a lasting ecosystem of mutual support.

This sense of community is vital for young founders navigating the complexities of building tech businesses. Having access to other entrepreneurs who’ve walked the same path helps reduce isolation, build confidence and unlock collaboration opportunities across industries and use cases. It also helps establish a long-term network of talent, ideas and shared resources under a unified national platform.

During the event, eight startups from diverse sectors presented their solutions, each addressing specific market needs with technology at its core:

  • Cluster is tackling inefficiencies in pharmaceutical distribution through a health-tech platform that improves supply chain management.
  • Mystery Bag uses digital tools to reduce food waste and manage unsold inventory through smart redistribution.
  • Converse2Note applies AI to automatically turn doctor-patient conversations into structured, coded medical reports, boosting efficiency in healthcare settings.
  • Coccarohome connects women artisans directly with customers, giving authentic handmade home décor wider visibility while promoting women-led microenterprises.
  • Sportyano is developing a digital ecosystem for talent discovery and contract management in the sports sector.
  • LRNOVA focuses on edtech, using AI-powered tools to help educators create high-quality, interactive content.
  • TANKER provides fleet managers with a digital system for tracking and optimizing fuel consumption in logistics and transportation.
  • eDariba helps SMEs, freelancers and accounting offices manage tax filings and stay aligned with Egypt’s digital tax transformation agenda.

Each of these startups reflects the diversity and real-world relevance of solutions being nurtured under the Start IT umbrella. Whether in logistics, healthcare, education or digital services, these ventures show how Egyptian innovators are addressing practical challenges with scalable technology.

Introducing Start IT Perks: A Digital Boost for Growing Startups

One of the standout developments in this new round is the launch of the Start IT Perks platform, a digital perks and benefits package designed exclusively for incubated startups. This platform offers discounted access to premium digital tools and services through partnerships with leading local enablers such as Talents Arena, Sprints, The WhiteGuard, Qayedeny, Camion, Techie Matter, DevisionX and Zurqa.

These perks are designed to help startups reduce operational costs, access high-quality digital solutions and accelerate their time to market. From team recruitment and technical assessments to cybersecurity and cloud integration, the platform makes it easier for young ventures to focus on growth without being held back by infrastructure limitations.

The perks model also reflects an understanding of what early-stage startups really need: not just funding but targeted, high-impact support that aligns with their day-to-day operations. By curating this ecosystem of local partners, ITIDA is creating a reliable, cost-effective support layer that is available from day one.

Expanded Support to Fuel Startup Growth

This round also comes with a significant boost in startup support. ITIDA has increased its incubation package from EGP 180,000 to EGP 480,000 per startup. This expanded offering includes both direct financial grants and in-kind services, such as access to training, expert consultations and product development support. The goal is to give startups the resources they need to navigate key development milestones and prepare for external investment.

In addition, the value of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud credits available to each startup has been doubled, now reaching $10,000 per team. This upgrade ensures that startups can experiment, build and scale without worrying about the upfront cost of cloud infrastructure. Given that most modern tech startups rely heavily on cloud computing, this enhancement significantly strengthens their technical capacity from the early stages.

Beyond funding and technology, the Start IT program is also addressing the need for human capital. Through dedicated partnerships with Talents Arena, Sprints, and Techie Matter, the program offers hiring support to help startups build strong, qualified teams. Whether a founder is looking for software developers, product designers or data scientists, they now have access to reliable channels for recruitment and evaluation.

Another valuable addition is the introduction of AI enablement tracks. These include targeted training programs and advisory sessions for startups working on advanced AI solutions. As more Egyptian ventures move into deep tech and AI-driven innovation, these sessions are designed to help them build strong technical foundations and adopt global best practices in model development, data governance and ethical AI design.

By equipping startups with the right tools, networks and infrastructure, ITIDA is not only supporting individual companies, it is laying the groundwork for a more competitive national innovation ecosystem. The program shows how coordinated public-sector support can make a meaningful difference when it comes to startup survival, product-market fit and sustainable scale-up.

The 47th round of Start IT arrives at a time when Egypt’s startup ecosystem is actively expanding, fueled by both local talent and increasing government investment in digital transformation. With more structured programs like this in place, Egypt is strengthening its position as a growing tech hub in the region and the success of these early-stage ventures may soon translate into job creation, economic growthEgypt’s Start IT Program Scales Up to Empower a New Generation of Tech Startups and regional influence.

The future of Egypt’s digital economy depends on empowering its brightest problem solvers with the tools and support they need to succeed. With this latest expansion of the Start IT program, ITIDA is taking confident steps in that direction.
