The Global Activist Network (GAN) has selected two changemakers for the 2025 Impact Fund who are already creating strong results for women and girls in their countries. Their work addresses issues that limit mobility, safety and economic freedom. This funding gives them a chance to expand solutions that are simple, powerful and rooted in the needs of their communities. By supporting their growth GAN is helping create a future where more young women have the tools to lead, shape their own lives and break long standing barriers.

Driving Sustainable Mobility for Women in Egypt

The first awardee is Dr. Nouran Farouk from Egypt. She is a physician and social entrepreneur who is helping women access safe, sustainable micro mobility. She co-founded Dosy which is the first tech based platform in Egypt that trains women to operate scooters and bicycles. Her work is opening new doors for women who want to move freely and safely in their cities. Through Dosy she has already trained more than 8000 women and helped create more than 3000 job opportunities.

Her leadership has been recognised across Africa and beyond. She won the People and Skills Winner at the 2024 UN Tourism Women in Tech competition. She is also a Tony Elumelu entrepreneur for 2025, a Ban Ki moon Global Citizen Scholar, a Halcyon intensive MENA fellow and a Global Education delegate for the 2025 World Bank Youth Summit. She spoke at the Africa Climate Summit in 2023 and represented Dosy at the AU MSME Summit. She also took first place at the Entrepreneurship Summer School hosted by TU Berlin.

Nouran holds a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine and a diploma in hospital management from the American University in Cairo. Her background allows her to bring together public health, mobility and climate resilience. Her work supports the vision of building sustainable cities where women can take part fully and safely. Her approach also shows how mobility is linked to opportunity since women with more freedom of movement gain access to jobs education and community involvement.

Her impact earned her the QS ImpACT Woman SDG Leader of the Year award. This recognition celebrates women who push forward progress linked to the Sustainable Development Goals. Through Dosy she promotes zero emission mobility for women in Cairo. She has led more than 1200 eco rides and trained more than 300 women in sustainable mobility. Her work is helping increase access to green jobs, reduce pollution and shift social beliefs about women riding scooters and bicycles. Each step supports a more inclusive city where clean mobility and women’s leadership grow side by side.

Building Confidence and Opportunity for Girls in Nigeria

The second awardee is Joy Oluwatoyin Adeboye from Nigeria. She is the founder of LEVAWG which stands for Leadership and Ending Violence Against Women and Girls. She is also the CEO of Resilient Joy Agro Farms. Joy is a survivor of sexual violence and her work focuses on protecting girls, supporting them and guiding them toward confidence, leadership and economic strength.

Joy has dedicated her life to defending the rights of women and girls. Through mentorship projects campaigns and leadership training she addresses sexual and gender based violence, reproductive health rights and economic empowerment. Her mission is to redesign the future of girls so they can grow without fear and have access to real opportunities. Her work covers both emotional support and practical tools that help girls build strong futures.

She holds a degree in Philosophy from Adekunle Ajasin University. She has a mini masters from Lagos Business School and completed gender training from the National Institute for Leadership and Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Abuja. Through her work in agriculture she trains young girls in poultry farming at no cost. This helps them gain income skills and independence. Her goal is to break patterns of poverty through education and entrepreneurship.

Joy also uses storytelling to support her advocacy. She creates documentaries and writes self esteem books that encourage women and girls to speak up and seek justice. She provides free legal aid to victims and her work has reached more than 21000 women and girls. Her dedication has earned global recognition. She was a finalist for the 2024 .ORG Impact Award in the Rising Star category and she received the Princess Diana Award which is the highest honor a young person can receive for social change. She represented Nigeria at the Second World Summit for Social Development at the United Nations in Qatar in 2025.

Despite challenges she continues to push forward with strength and clarity. Her work shows what is possible when passion meets purpose. At LEVAWG she leads with the belief that every girl has the power to rise above barriers when she receives support and opportunities. The initiative focuses on measurable projects that help girls stay safe, build leadership skills and influence their communities in positive ways.

The 2025 GAN Impact Fund winners are creating real progress through ideas built on community needs. Their work supports women and girls who deserve every chance to grow, succeed and lead. With this funding their impact will go even further, helping shape societies that are fair, inclusive and full of opportunity.

Congratulations to both awardees.
