In the heart of Abidjan, where the bustling streets are a reflection of tradition and innovation, one man has made it his life’s mission to bridge the divide between Africa’s small businesses and the vast potential of digital communication. Abraham N’djorey’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and an unshakable belief in the power of technology to transform lives.
His journey from a young boy in Plateau, Ivory Coast, to the founder of Com’Afrik and NMAW, has been fueled by a single realization: African businesses were being left behind in the digital revolution, and someone had to step in to change that.
“I knew from a very young age that I wanted to do something that bridged communication with technology,” Abraham shares, his voice reflecting the fervor of his early passion.
Raised in the commune of Plateau, a part of Abidjan known for its blend of urban life and business activity, Abraham was drawn to the mechanics of how businesses communicated with their audiences. This fascination led him to pursue a degree in Advertising and Marketing at ISTC Polytechnique, a decision that would set the stage for his entrepreneurial career.
“Education was essential, but it was when I started working directly with African SMEs and startups that the real lessons began,” he admits, his journey taking shape on the ground. The experiences with these businesses were eye-opening—he began to see firsthand the challenges they faced in communicating effectively and tapping into the potential of digital platforms. That’s when the seed for his companies, Com’Afrik and NMAW, was planted.
Filling a Critical Gap in the Market
The gap he identified was glaring. “Many African companies were struggling to communicate their brands and tap into the digital space effectively. There was no tailored support that considered the unique realities of the African market,” he says. This observation led him to create Com’Afrik, the first French-speaking platform dedicated to innovative communication strategies for the African market, and NMAW, his digital communication agency.
“Our goal is simple: we’re here to help companies position themselves, grow, and succeed in the rapidly evolving digital world,” he explains.
Based in Abidjan but working across French-speaking Africa, Com’Afrik has quickly become a cornerstone for businesses seeking to enhance their digital presence. The agency offers services that include market analysis, content production, social media management, and online advertising. Abraham’s team, although small—just five passionate individuals—works tirelessly to ensure that each client gets the strategic support they need to thrive in a competitive digital environment.
“We’re here to make African businesses visible, impactful, and successful,” Abraham says with conviction. “With Com’Afrik, companies can develop their reputation, generate qualified leads, and build customer loyalty.” His agency’s commitment to delivering tangible results is what sets them apart in an industry that often promises more than it delivers.
Overcoming Early Challenges
But success did not come without its hurdles. Like many entrepreneurs, Abraham faced skepticism and resistance, especially from local businesses that viewed digital communication as a luxury rather than a necessity.
“At first, many thought digital marketing was only for the big multinationals,” he recalls. “We had to educate the market, organize conferences, and demonstrate with real results that digital solutions could be accessible and profitable for even the smallest businesses.”
Abraham reflects on those early challenges: “It wasn’t easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. You have to believe in what you’re offering and keep pushing until others believe it too.”
The resistance wasn’t just limited to clients. Managing a growing team and building a company culture in a competitive environment proved to be another challenge. “Human resources management was tough,” Abraham admits. “But I realized that the key to success is a strong corporate culture. Value your team, empower them, and they’ll give you their best.”
The importance of perseverance and leadership rooted in empathy became central tenets of his entrepreneurial approach.
Remarkable Successes and Notable Projects
Abraham’s journey is also marked by a series of impressive successes that demonstrate his agency’s impact. He proudly points to the collaboration with Isaac Gnamba Yao, an influential personality. “That project was a game-changer for us. It showed how digital communication could elevate even the most high-profile political campaigns,” he says, a sense of pride in his voice.
Another standout moment was the launch of Com’Afrik Intelligence, which introduced a rapid audit service for businesses at an accessible price of 25,000 FCFA (approximately USD$40). “This service helped numerous companies adjust their strategies and improve their performance in just 24 hours,” he explains, illustrating the agility and effectiveness of his services. “It’s one of the ways we can provide a hands-on, immediate solution to businesses that need quick and accurate results.”
Abraham’s work has not gone unnoticed. He was recognized as one of the Top 70 best project leaders during the African Startup Tour in Benin in 2018. “Being part of that group was a huge milestone for me and my team,” he reflects, the memory still fresh. “It showed us that we were on the right path and that the work we were doing was making an impact.”
Social Impact Beyond Business
Beyond the business world, Abraham is also deeply invested in social and educational causes. He is the founder of RELAIS (Réseau d’engagement pour le leadership et l’Action Inclusive des jeunes), a movement aimed at inspiring the youth of Ivory Coast. “It’s all about empowering young people to take charge of their futures,” he explains. “I want to give them the tools to succeed, just as I had the opportunity to do so when I was younger.”
Abraham’s dedication to social change extends to his work on an NGO aimed at helping victims of violence and sexual abuse. His drive to make a positive impact reaches far beyond the business sphere, underscoring his belief that success is not just about profits but also about leaving a legacy of change.
“I believe that we have a responsibility to not only build businesses but to also contribute to building better communities,” Abraham says, his passion for social entrepreneurship shining through. “I’m just as committed to social change as I am to business success. For me, the two go hand in hand.”
Advice to Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Abraham’s advice to young entrepreneurs is simple but powerful: “Start small, but start well. Use the free tools available, educate yourself, and listen to your customers. Even with limited resources, creativity and perseverance can set you apart.” It’s a philosophy he embodies every day in his work and leadership style. He stresses the importance of understanding the market’s needs and offering concrete solutions, even when resources are limited.
“Even with limited resources, the key is creativity. That’s what can set you apart in a crowded market,” Abraham insists. “And don’t forget: your customers are your best teachers. Always listen to them.”
The Future of Digital Communication and Innovation
Looking ahead, Abraham is particularly excited about the potential of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. With Com’Afrik Intelligence, his team is already using AI to conduct rapid and accurate audits, a service he believes will revolutionize the way businesses approach digital communication. “Artificial intelligence is the future of communication, and we’re just scratching the surface of its possibilities,” he says with palpable excitement.
“The future is bright,” Abraham adds. “We’re only beginning to explore the potential of AI and other emerging technologies. I want to be at the forefront of that change, helping businesses tap into the digital landscape in ways they never thought possible.”
In the coming months, Abraham is also set to launch two new projects under An Technology Group: Logeivoire.com, a platform dedicated to the real estate sector, and Agendax, a digital ticketing service. Both projects are designed to meet specific needs in the African market, further expanding his impact across multiple industries.
Lessons Learned and Shaping Leadership
Reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey, Abraham’s most important lesson has been one of patience and perseverance. “Nothing lasting is built in a hurry. You have to listen, learn from your mistakes, and surround yourself with the right people,” he shares. This mindset has shaped not only his business strategies but also his approach to leadership. “My goal is not just to succeed in business, but to make a lasting impact and leave a positive legacy,” he says, his voice resolute.
Abraham N’djorey’s story is one of defying the odds and leading with purpose. From the streets of Plateau to shaping the digital landscape of Africa, his journey serves as a beacon for aspiring entrepreneurs. His message is clear: with vision, persistence, and a deep understanding of the market, anything is possible. As Abraham himself says, “Success is not measured by what you achieve for yourself, but by what you help others achieve along the way.”
